I was excited to upload it because it is no longer available to watch on the BBC's iPlayer, nor by any other means to the best of my knowledge. This recording should not languish in some archive, unseen.
I DO hope I am able to resolve these difficulties because this is a work and a performance of signal cultural importance and record. With sincere goodwill, I hope I can do so].
Here is the great Sir András Schiff in a stellar performance of the second part of Bach's magnum opus (composed 20 years later than Book I) at the Royal Albert Hall, London. It was performed as part of the BBC Proms 2018.
The Well-Tempered Clavier is a work which is generally regarded as being among the most important works in the history of Western classical music.
The legend surrounding the 'Goldberg Variations', performed here by Jean Rondeau for All of Bach, is such a nice one.
Count Hermann Karl von Keyserlinck was having trouble sleeping and asked Bach for some pleasant music to pass the time, to be played by Keyserlinck’s harpsichord prodigy Johann Gottlieb Goldberg.
